Nautical Navy and Yellow

by heather

This inspiration started with a simple pair of fun fish socks!  Following the trend of fun footwear, these tootsies were decked out for a nautical wedding with the refreshing color combination of navy and yellow.  A blue blazer with a bright yellow tie would be perfect for the groomsmen.  Instead of boutonnieres why not add a matching button pin? (a very budget friendly alternative to flowers!) Classic navy favor boxes could be filled with salt water taffy or a fragrant seaside votive candle.  We filled our vibrant yellow favor bags with Swedish Fish and sealed them with a custom sticker in… you guessed it, navy and yellow.  Who would have guessed one pair of socks could lead to so many options!  What was your inspiration for your wedding color palette?

Telliegrams Featured in Brides Washington Magazine!

by heather

We were very excited and honored to be approached by Brides Washington Magazine for their Fall/Winter 2009 issue.  They were doing a feature on wedding accessories inspired by different swatches of fabric – something we often look to for inspiration as well!  The results are below and we couldn’t be happier!

Mr. and Mrs. Scime’s Wedding – 01.02.2010

by heather

The colors for this amazing wedding were Pansy and Light blue, a both unique and outstandingly beautiful combination for a winter wedding!  We always love the look of alternating favor boxes and ribbon colors.  It brings a whole new level of interest to the place setting.  As a side note- we are in total awe of her centerpiece arrangements, lanterns, candles and lighting.  Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Scime for sharing your beautiful wedding photos with us.  Congratulations again!

Who needs high heels?

by heather

One wedding trend we can’t help but love is fun and unexpected footwear.  April showers?  No problem…a pair of wellies in your wedding colors would be perfect.  Open toe shoes in the snow?  I don’t think so…we’ve seen brides wear toe tapping cowboy boots instead.  The best part is now even your shoes  show both your personal style and personality!

Have the last word…

by heather

Your guests came from far and near to help celebrate your big day.  As a former bride I know it is almost impossible to spend the quality of time with each guest that they truly deserve.  One way to make them all feel a little more special (and let them know you can’t thank them enough for being there)  is to set out a few "snacks for the road."  Your guests will leave your event feeling like not only did you think of everything, but you spent the time to think about their comfort and enjoyment throughout the entire day…even the ride home!

Color Inspiration: Lime and Electric Blue

by heather

This week’s inspiration is another combination that truly packs a punch for both interior design and event colors!  We found the room pictured below on a great interior design blog http://www.momoy.com/ .  The designs they feature are all fresh and unique and of course color inspiring!  To recreate the look we used rock candy which is always a fun favor for both adults and kids at any event and is available in a variety of colors to correspond with your theme!

Make it personal…

by heather
Whenever I am invited to a bridal shower, one of the first questions that crosses my mind is "buy a gift from the registry, or a fun personal gift the bride isn’t expecting".  As a former bride, I know the answer should always be "a gift from the registry" because let’s be honest, that’s what the registry is there for!  So why not do both?  Pick an item or two from the registry and personalize it by adding a little something extra such as these cute aprons from Anthropologie that could match the bride’s personal taste or wedding colors, or even cupcake mixes and a cookbook from Williams Sanoma to help the new couple start their baking off on the right foot.

Color Inspiration: Turquoise and Red

by heather
We are always on the lookout for fun and powerful color combinations.  While searching for inspiration online, I came across Brides.com’s most beautiful cakes of America article and was immediately blown away by the amazing cake pictured below.  Turquoise and Red, what a statement!  The combination is fresh and perfect for both summer and winter events.  The cake was created by Robyn Loves Cake located in Goleta, CA (their website features a ton of photos of their fabulous creations: http://robynlovescake.com/).  Thank you Robyn Loves Cake for the inspiration!

Watermelon, the perfect summer treat!

by heather

Nothing says summer like a picnic…and nothing says picnic like watermelon.  We found these watermelon salt water taffies at Wegmans (a local grocery store) and thought they would be perfect for a pink and green wedding, a picnic party favor, or whenever you need a watermelon fix without all the mess!
